Overview

Apple Mail on macOS and iOS supports custom SMTP servers. By routing outbound mail through Badex, every email gets your professional signature injected and DKIM signed before delivery.

Setup on macOS

Step 1 — Open Mail Preferences

In Apple Mail, click Mail menu → Settings (or Preferences on older macOS) → click the Accounts tab.

Step 2 — Select Your Account

Click on the email account you want to configure (e.g., your company email on cPanel/Plesk).

Step 3 — Edit SMTP Server

Click the Server Settings tab. Under Outgoing Mail Account (SMTP), click the dropdown and select Edit SMTP Server List...

Step 4 — Add Badex SMTP Server

Click + to add a new server. Fill in:

Description: Badex Signature
Server Name: smtp.signature.badex.app
Port: 587
Use TLS/SSL: STARTTLS (587)
Authentication: Password
User Name: your-email@yourdomain.com
Password: your Badex SMTP password

Click OK. Back in Account settings, select Badex Signature as the outgoing server for this account.

Setup on iPhone / iPad (iOS)

Step 1 — Open Settings

Go to SettingsMailAccounts → select your email account.

Step 2 — Open Account Details

Tap on your account name at the top → tap Account (the email address line).

Step 3 — Edit SMTP Server

Scroll down and tap SMTP under Outgoing Mail Server. Tap Add Server...

Step 4 — Enter Badex Details

Host Name: smtp.signature.badex.app
User Name: your-email@yourdomain.com
Password: your Badex SMTP password
Use SSL: On
Server Port: 587

Tap Done. Make sure the new server is set as Primary Server.

🎉 Done!

Every email from Apple Mail on Mac and iPhone now has your professional DKIM-signed signature. Disable Apple Mail's built-in signature to avoid duplicates.

Troubleshooting

❓ Cannot connect to SMTP server
On iOS, make sure Use SSL is On and port is 587. If it fails, try port 465 with SSL.
❓ Signature appears twice
Go to Mail Settings → Signature and set it to empty. Let Badex inject the signature server-side.
❓ Authentication failed
The username must be your full email address. Password is your Badex SMTP password, not your email account password.
❓ Mail stuck in Outbox
This usually means the SMTP connection failed. Double-check server name (smtp.signature.badex.app) and port (587).
